Job Summary

Own the social presence for civil rights advocacy by crafting daily content, guiding approvals, capturing and editing events, and tracking impact to continuously optimize audience engagement and brand voice.

  • Content Creation & Publishing: Produce and publish high-quality social posts across LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, Instagram, and TikTok, following brand standards.
  • Brand & Campaign Coordination: Manage approvals, develop toolkits for partners, and coordinate with internal teams for rapid-response posts and paid campaigns.

Job Description

Own and execute social media content across platforms, ensure timely publishing, and adapt to rapid-response needs while coordinating with internal teams to maintain brand-aligned digital storytelling and assets.

  • Develop and Maintain the departmental calendar for publishing social media content.
  • Write, edit, design and post high-quality social content to ACLU MS’ core platforms on a daily basis, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, Instagram, and TikTok.
  • Facilitate the approval process for all social media posts to be posted on ACLU MS’ official digital platforms, including reviews by directors across departments and the National ACLU communications team, as applicable.
  • Capture photo and video content at a wide variety of ACLU MS events and activities, including press conferences, rallies, and community engagement initiatives; edit captured content for use in ACLU MS social posts, campaign materials, and publications.
  • Design social media and website graphics in alignment with the ACLU MS brand and copy standards.
  • Create social media toolkits as appropriate for coalition partners and supporters to use in amplifying ACLU MS’ work and messaging.
  • Monitor engagement and comments on ACLU MS’ social media platforms.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the news and draft rapid response posts for ACLU MS’ social media on relevant issues, with advance input and review from relevant departments.
  • Support the Communications director in setting up and monitoring paid social media campaigns.
  • Monitor and regularly report on social media analytics.
