Job Summary

Drive social storytelling for a public advocacy nonprofit by planning and delivering daily content across major platforms, coordinating approvals, and turning event moments into shareable assets while monitoring engagement and rapid-response needs.

  • Content Calendar: Manage the social content calendar and publishing workflow across platforms.
  • Content Creation: Write, edit, design, and post daily social content aligned with brand standards.
  • Approvals & Collaboration: Facilitate post approvals with directors and the communications team.

Responsibilities

  • Content Calendar: Manage the social content calendar and publishing workflow across platforms.
  • Content Creation: Write, edit, design, and post daily social content aligned with brand standards.
  • Approvals & Collaboration: Facilitate post approvals with directors and the communications team.
  • Asset Capture & Edit: Capture and edit photo/video from events for posts and campaigns.
  • Visual Design: Design social graphics in alignment with brand and copy standards.
  • Toolkits & Support: Create social media toolkits for coalitions and supporters.
  • Community & Trends: Monitor engagement and stay abreast of trends to inform strategy.
  • Rapid Response: Draft rapid-response posts for timely issues with cross-department input.

Requirements

  • Professional experience creating social content across platforms for a public advocacy, educational, political, nonprofit, or corporate entity.
  • Strong video shooting and editing skills, with a focus on short-form content for TikTok and Instagram.
  • Proficiency in photography and use of photographic equipment and editing applications.
  • Strong graphic design skills, with a focus on social media graphics across platforms.
  • Experience with social media scheduling tools.
  • Proven ability to effectively coordinate content across multiple platforms and publication deadlines.
  • Experience in pulling and analyzing social media analytics across platforms.
  • Experience in website management and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
