Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own product positioning and narrative
  • Define ideal customer profiles, primary use cases, and jobs to be done for educators evaluating and selecting course materials for their classes, guiding product awareness, engagement, and adoption decisions
  • Partner with Product Management to deeply understand educator behavior, needs, and friction points, translating insights into recommendations that improve discovery, engagement, and retention of products
  • Design and evolve product line growth and retention strategies (onboarding flows, activation moments and educational training)
  • Own new product launch strategies, planning, and measurement with a focus on adoption and learning cycles rather than campaign execution
  • Define success metrics and feedback mechanisms to assess what’s working, what’s not, and where to iterate
  • Partner with Product Management, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure teams understand product value, customer pain points, and objections

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in Product Marketing, Product Strategy, Go-to-Market, or related product-focused roles.
  • Proven expertise in product positioning, messaging, customer insights, and go-to-market strategy for evolving product portfolios.
  • Experience driving product awareness, adoption, engagement, retention, and customer growth through data-informed decision making.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience defining, measuring, and interpreting KPIs related to activation, usage, adoption, retention, and customer success.
  • Demonstrated success partnering cross-functionally with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and other key stakeholders to influence product strategy and market outcomes.
  • Experience leading product launches, developing customer-centric value propositions, and translating customer needs into compelling product narratives.
  • A growth mindset with a passion for experimentation, continuous learning, and optimizing how products are positioned, adopted, and experienced.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience marketing educational products, courseware, learning solutions, digital learning platforms, or academic publishing products within higher education strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of how faculty, instructors, academic departments, and institutions evaluate, select, adopt, and utilize course materials and learning resources.

  • Experience marketing and selling educational products, course materials, or learning solutions directly to professors, instructors, and higher education faculty.
