Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive social media and digital engagement strategy aligned to organizational priorities
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure digital strategy supports the organization mission, programs, partnerships, and fundraising initiatives
  • Design and implement integrated digital campaigns (paid and organic) that move audiences from awareness to participation and advocacy
  • Ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned to strategic priorities
  • Develop and manage content calendars aligned to campaign priorities and audience needs
  • Develop audience targeting strategies and channel plans to maximize reach and engagement
  • Identify emerging platforms, trends, and cultural moments to ensure Active Minds remains relevant to youth and young adults
  • Partner with PR and Executive Leadership to amplify organizational thought leaders through social media platforms
  • Continuously test, optimize, and evolve digital strategies to drive engagement and growth
  • Oversee development and management of high-quality, youth-centered digital content across social media platforms

Requirements

  • 6-8 years of experience in social media, digital media or marketing, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment.
  • 4+ years of people management experience.
  • Expertise in social media & digital media strategy, content performance, and analytic reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with online tools and platforms including Sprout Social, Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Creator Marketplace, Meltwater and ClickUp (project management tool).

  • Ability to deliver feedback directly and clearly.
  • Deep understanding of digital storytelling, audience engagement, community building & management, and nonprofit communications.
  • Comfortable in public speaking and presenting data, strategy, and learnings to all levels of the organization.
  • Extensive experience managing social media channels
  • Experience launching or scaling digital campaigns or creator programs
  • High digital literacy across platforms, tools, and analytics systems.
