Job Summary

Own media relations and strategic communications programs that move stories across national and local outlets while guiding client service and mentorship in a fast changing, multi beat public affairs environment.

Media relations leadership: build deep media contacts, secure coverage, and place executive storytelling across national, local, and podcast platforms.
Team and client ownership: mentor junior staff, manage client relationships, and deliver hands on results with strategic counsel.
Cross beat collaboration and events: connect clients to high profile conferences and work with reporters, bloggers, and content creators across beats.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Maintain sophisticated media relations and strong media contacts
Develop and execute strategic communications programs with storytelling through major media
Manage client relations with strong writing and attention to detail
Connect clients to relevant high profile conferences
Collaborate with reporters, bloggers, producers and content creators across beats/topics
Adapt quickly to a shifting, fast-paced environment and navigate an ever-changing media landscape
Work in teams across groups such as Sports, Public Affairs, Media Tech, Entertainment, Hospitality, Data/Analytics, and HangarFour
Mentor junior staff and foster media/industry relationships while maintaining relationships with key media
Provide strategic counsel and hands-on results to deliver outstanding client service
Think both analytically and creatively and bring an entrepreneurial spirit to the team

Requirements

3-5 years’ experience in public relations and integrated communications in relevant sectors, including Healthcare, B2B, Public Affairs and Non-Profit.
Proven success in developing and executing strategic communications programs with storytelling through major media at the core.
Deep relationships at national and local media outlets, and an understanding of relevant podcasts and online platforms
Aptitude for content creation
Excellent writing skills
Relentless attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Willingness to network outside of the office
Commitment to delivering outstanding client service, providing both strategic counsel and hands-on results
Ability to think both analytically and creatively
Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to be a part of team
