Responsibilities

• Capture field photos and videos where permitted
• Assist in drafting and scheduling social media content (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) using Canva and platform scheduling tools
• Research relevant hashtags, trends, conservation holidays, and industry news
• Support creation of internal bulletins, newsletters, and blogs
• Collaborate on visual marketing materials and flyers
• Maintain organized content archives
• Ensure all communications align with brand standards and voice

Requirements

• Interest in environmental science, conservation, or communications
• Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail
• Familiarity with Instagram, LinkedIn, and Meta Suite scheduling tools
• Experience with Canva or similar design platforms
• Able to reliably commute to Fullerton 1–2x per week
• This internship may involve occasional outdoor fieldwork and office-based tasks. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
• Ability to stand, walk, and observe for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 30 pounds
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and outdoor settings
• Ability to walk on uneven ground and slopes

Preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree or working towards a degree in environmental science, wildlife ecology, communications, marketing, or a related field
• Experience creating content for a business or nonprofit organization
• Knowledge of SEO best practices or newsletter formatting tools
