Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Learn the fundamentals of media relations, campaign strategy and client management
  • Work on multiple publicity campaigns from day one
  • Draft press releases, pitch letters, media alerts, talking points and other written materials
  • Draft and update press reports
  • Monitor coverage and share daily press clippings with supervisors and clients
  • Maintain organized, up-to-date client notes and campaign documents
  • Collaborate with team members on campaign strategy
  • Pitch clients for media coverage and other relevant opportunities
  • Coordinate the logistics of appearances, interviews, meetings and events
  • Manage tour and event press requests, invitations, preview pitching and press schedules

Requirements

  • you have at least two internships at a public relations or corporate communications agency or a minimum of one year of experience in a comparable communications role
  • you have excellent time management, organizational skills and are detail-oriented
  • you welcome challenges, take initiative and are an eager problem-solver
  • you take direction well and are a team player with a growth mindset
  • you have exemplary writing, communication and storytelling skills
  • you are a voracious consumer of media and news
  • you love the business of public relations and the business of music/entertainment
