Responsibilities

• Administering a public relations program for the SCDA that will include media relations, social media content creation, event coordination, and crisis communication.
• Researching, writing, receiving and responding to inquiries, creating content for all forms of communications, including digital channels, and coordinating events such as press conferences.
• The employee must exercise a moderate amount of independent judgment within established guidelines, and must take initiative in the performance of their duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Advertising or related field and two (2) years of experience that regularly involved writing or editing responsibilities in the fields of journalism, marketing, managerial sales or public relations; or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience as defined by (1) and (2).
• Promotional: Two (2) years of permanent competitive status as a Community Relations Assistant or Community Relations Assistant (Spanish Speaking).
