Job Summary

Own comprehensive national to local PR programs for justice-focused clients, leading strategy, media relations, and measurement while turning data into action; nurture client trust and growth.

  • Own media relations from strategy to placement and content creation across releases, pitches, op-eds, LTEs, and social.
  • Define measurement models and convert coverage data into actionable insights for clients and internal teams.
  • Manage client relationships and drive renewals while coordinating across strategists to align initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Own media relations from strategy to placement, including lists, pitches, press releases, op-eds, newsletters, and social content.
  • Track coverage and translate data into insights for reporting.
  • Build trusted client relationships to drive renewals year over year.
  • Guide clients on PR and digital media approaches while listening and responding to their needs.
  • Own timelines and deadlines with proactive communication and autonomy.
  • Develop and implement strategic PR plans tailored to each client's goals and resources.
  • Expand beyond traditional media to untraditional platforms and digital engagement opportunities.
  • Build and maintain media relationships at national, regional, and local levels.
  • Write content types: press releases, pitches, op-eds, LTEs, blogs, social posts and messaging.
  • Define measurement models and translate analytics into action.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of PR experience with a heavy emphasis on media relations in agency or in-house.
  • Located in Atlanta or San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Proven track record earning stories in national and multicultural media for social justice causes.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment (agency, political campaign, or newsroom).
  • Experience across health equity, racial justice, or advocacy.
  • Strategic thinker who understands how PR builds audiences and drives them to action.
  • High emotional intelligence; skilled at anticipating client concerns and building long-term trust.
  • Exceptional writer across press releases, op-eds, pitches, social posts, newsletters.
  • Strong analytical skills; can read data and translate it into next steps.
  • Experienced in 100% remote environments; Asana, Slack, and Google Workspace fluency required.

  • Multilingual, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese or Vietnamese preferred.
