Job Summary

Own media relations and crisis communications for a finance-focused ratings group, coordinating cross-region efforts to secure earned coverage, build reporter relationships, and safeguard reputation.

  • Media Relations: Drive proactive earned coverage, op-eds, and broadcast opportunities with spokespeople.
  • Channel Strategy: Build regional reporter networks and test new channels to optimize outreach.
  • Crisis & Metrics: Assist with crisis messaging, media training, and tracking share-of-voice and impact.

Job Description

Own and execute media relations and crisis communications for a financial ratings division, coordinating across time zones to secure earned coverage and protect reputation.

  • Collaborate with team and stakeholders to develop and execute our public relations strategy aligned with goals.
  • Work with spokespeople to proactively seek earned media placements including op-eds and broadcast opportunities.
  • Build relationships with local and regional reporters through proactive outreach.
  • Show creativity and innovativeness in engaging with media and developing new channels as needed.
  • Communicate with a range of stakeholders in a respectful and thoughtful manner, and tackle challenges head-on.
  • Assist team with crisis communications, drafting messaging and media training.
  • Partner with colleagues to collate intelligence on media share of voice and other metrics.
  • Be comfortable in a matrix environment and pitch in to support other team members.
  • Work across multiple time zones and under tight deadlines.
  • Follow directions, escalate challenges, and produce finished projects that meet or exceed expectations.
