Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the leadership of the Office of Communications to manage multiple projects simultaneously from inception to completion.
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of multiple communication projects, ensuring timely and satisfactory delivery.
  • Partner effectively with leadership, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to achieve project objectives.
  • Develop and manage project schedules and timelines, identifying and tracking all key milestones.
  • Draft content as needed for projects, including but not limited to: campaign messaging guides, web content, promotional ad copy, and video scripts.
  • Facilitate and manage the final production process, including scheduling, coordinating client approvals, and proof-reading the final product.

Requirements

  • Seven years of experience in public relations, social media, and digital communications.
  • - Associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Social Media, Digital Communications, or similar degree, substitutes for two, four, or five years, of experience respectively;
  • OR one year of experience as a Public Information Specialist 1 (Digital Content).

Preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Two years related experience helping to plan and manage the implementation of assigned communications projects.
  • NYS government experience a plus.
  • Excellent creative and institutional writing skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize a busy workload to meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven attention to detail, while retaining the ability to see the bigger picture.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Proven work experience developing and delivering informative, well-written messaging.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure success of marketing campaigns.
