Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Uncover, analyze, and translate category trends, conversations, behaviors, or changes in the category for consideration of creative team
  • Bring insight on category and the consumer subcultures surrounding it to weekly brainstorming sessions to guide team in making relevant content
  • Have a strong pulse on social platform best practices, understanding most opportunistic and relevant formats and topics, and algorithm nuances
  • Develop unique audience cohorts based on social conversation, category behaviors, and quantitative + qualitative research
  • Ongoing monitoring of brand’s social channels to track interactions (comments, engagements, DMs, etc) and interpret what they’re signaling about consumer preference
  • Use third party tools (Brandwatch, Pulsar, etc.) to monitor brand mentions, category conversations, and wider consumer sentiment
  • Read every comment across all social posts from brand to identify themes in perception, and understand how that tracks against brand goals
  • Go beyond community management to own community engagement: interact with consumers on behalf of brand, maintaining consistency with brand voice, and using the opportunity to probe further insights
  • Support development of creative briefs and workshops through social listening, influencer mining, data analysis, etc.
  • Proactively uncover transformational insights for brand and the subcultures of the opportunistic cohorts

Requirements

  • A subculture expert (preferably within food, beauty, or pop culture) and a contributor to the category through content development, thought leadership, or tangible in-category experience
  • Consider yourself a Social Media “know it all” and have experience working across a variety of social platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.
  • Able to identify themes and translate them into thoughtful insights and actionable recommendations that align with brand objectives
  • Innate curiosity and ability to adapt + be flexible, whether with new tools, platforms, processes, etc.
  • Any experience using the following social listening or research tools a plus but not mandatory: Brandwatch, Pulsar, Google/Pinterest Trends, GWI
  • Experience putting together presentations in written form using Google Slides
  • Strong writing and verbal skills, Able to effectively communicate with cross-functional teams and bring enthusiasm and proactivity to the work
