Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Produce content to support Petco Love and its campaigns, initiatives and programs .
  • Shoot and edit photos and videos .
  • Create shot lists, story outlines and conduct interviews .
  • Coordinate and manage photo and video shoots internally and using external freelancers across the country .
  • Manage and organize asset library in Brandfolder .
  • Use brand voice and style to write and produce compelling content as assigned that meets est ablished goals and expectations .
  • Actively seek out and help define new creative possibilities for sharing the stories of adoption partners, grant recipients, donors, adopters and Petco .
  • Create materials to support our in-store campaigns and other initiatives .
  • Work collaboratively to e nsure messaging and design work well in support of both Petco Love and Petco Brands .
  • In collaboration with the Petco Love marketing team develop video content ideas for social med ia to drive and improve engagement .
  • Continuously share key recommendations for improvement s .
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in photo and video production , and proven success in social media content development with a portfolio of examples.
  • Proficient in capturing and editing both video and still images
  • A strong writer and excellent communicator , able to write engaging story outlines/storyboards and add compelling contextual copy to draw a viewer deeper into the content
  • Training and experience in how to tell a story usi ng words, images, video or audio and the technical know-how to effectively execute.
  • Ability to demonstrate the personal and emotional impact of our work, as well as the data surrounding the measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to effectively track down and interview an adoption partner, grant recipient, donor, pet parents who were reunited through Petco Love Lost, or Petco partner to develop a story .
  • Fluency in Adobe Products such as; Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop , Adobe Premiere , Adobe After Effects, and social editing tools like Canva, Edits and Adobe Express as well as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Has design sensibilities and solid u nderstanding of design principles and working within a brand guide.
  • Proficiency creating content using trends and best practices for platforms like TikTok, Facebook, Instagram , YouTube and Linkedin . Plus, knowledge of live streaming technologies .
  • Strong ability to build and develop relationships with internal stakeholders, donors, volunteers, and teammates.
  • Nimbleness, positive, can-do attitude .
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time to complete them accurately and on schedule.
  • Willingness to embrace change and to adapt strategy on the fly.
  • Willingness to listen to and incorporate feedback from others .
  • Flexibility to deal with unanticipated projects that have tight turnaround times by adjusting schedules for other projects and clearly communicating those changes to stakeholders and teammates.
  • Self-motivated, good at taking initiative, excited to try new things and comfortable operating under a degree of ambiguity.
  • Willingness to travel to capture a story.
  • Passionate about animal welfare and the Petco Love mission.
