Job Summary

Coordinate marketing and communications activities, providing admin, design support, copywriting, and event assistance to communicate Akima's shareholder story and capabilities.

  • Own lightweight project coordination and department support across creative, copy, and materials updates.
  • Assist event planning, communications, and day-of execution to support shareholder storytelling.
  • Produce basic design and writing deliverables to keep internal/external communications consistent.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Primary Role - Serving as a coordinator to the marketing and communications team.
  • Updating materials using Microsoft Office or Adobe Creative Suite products
  • Basic design using Adobe Creative Suite
  • Writing copy for internal or external communications
  • Administrative tasks to support the department
  • Participating in creative and strategy meetings
  • Supporting event-related activities, including planning, communications, and day-of preparation and execution
  • Participating in efforts to communicate our shareholder story and capabilities to internal and external audiences

Requirements

  • College student with prior exposure to/or studying business or sales/marketing
  • Intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Office Suite applications (includes MS Project, Excel Spreadsheets & MS Access)
  • Must be outgoing and present a professional appearance
  • Must be a US citizen

Preferred

  • Pursuing (or plans of pursuing) an advanced degree in an sales, marketing, communications and/or business discipline
  • Good writing and editing skills
  • Practical work experience preferred
