Job Description

Responsibilities

The Marketing & Tourism Officer will be responsible for communicating the City of Alvin's story and promoting and overseeing the day-to day marketing operations of the Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB).
The Marketing & Tourism Officer is responsible for media relations, special projects, oversight of content on the city website and oversight of the city's social media platforms.
The office curates and crafts content about various departments, employees, programs, and initiatives within the organization and works collaboratively with community partners.
This position reports to the Communications Manager.

Requirements

Requires bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, tourism, hospitality, or related field with at least two years of relevant experience in said field.
Any combination of experience and education which provide the applicant with the level of required knowledge and abilities will be considered.
Excellent written, oral, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
Must possess a valid state driver's license.
