Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The University of New Mexico College of Fine Arts (CFA) seeks a collaborative and creative Marketing Manager to lead college-wide communications, marketing, and outreach efforts that strengthen the visibility of CFA's academic programs, people, events, and impact.
  • The Marketing Manager develops and implements communication and marketing strategies that connect CFA with students, alumni, community members, donors, arts organizations, and other external stakeholders.
  • The Marketing Manager develops compelling content across print and digital platforms, including social media, newsletters, websites, promotional materials, press releases, email communications, and stories highlighting faculty, staff, student, and alumni accomplishments.
  • The Marketing Manager also supports coverage of CFA events through accessible photography and visual content that captures the activity and character of the College.
  • Serving as CFA's primary communications and marketing liaison to University Communication and Marketing (UCAM), the Marketing Manager provides college-level coordination and guidance for communications and marketing activities across CFA's diverse units.
  • The position works collaboratively with departmental and unit-based communications and marketing representatives to promote consistent messaging, effective practices, appropriate use of the UNM brand, and coordinated promotion of college priorities while recognizing the distinct audiences and identities of individual programs.
  • The Marketing Manager provides oversight and coordination of CFA web content and digital presence; identifies opportunities for earned media and external engagement; develops communications calendars and campaigns; tracks the effectiveness of marketing and outreach activities; and advises College leadership on communications strategies that advance enrollment, engagement, reputation, and community connection.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience.

Preferred

  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing integrated communications or marketing strategies across multiple platforms, including web, email, social media, print, and/or earned media.
  • Exceptional written and editorial communication skills, with demonstrated ability to develop engaging content for varied audiences and purposes, such as feature stories, press releases, social media, newsletters, executive communications, and promotional materials.
  • Experience managing social media and digital communications, including content planning, audience engagement, content calendars, analytics, and adapting content for different platforms and audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating across multiple departments, programs, or organizational units, including the ability to coordinate the work of communications or marketing representatives who may have differing priorities, audiences, and areas of expertise.
  • Experience developing external-facing communications and cultivating relationships with media, community organizations, alumni, donors, or other external stakeholders, with demonstrated ability to identify and communicate compelling organizational stories.
  • Experience managing website content and digital presence, including working within a content management system and applying organizational branding, accessibility, editorial, and web-content standards.
  • Demonstrated visual storytelling skills, including event photography using mobile devices or other photography equipment and the ability to select, edit, and appropriately use images for social media, web, newsletters, and promotional communications.
