Job Summary

The candidate will own end-to-end development of Gale's client relationships and market growth, leading cross-functional sales, marketing alignment, and pursuit of RFP/RFQ opportunities across regions.

  • Lead business development and relationship-building initiatives with technical Directors and subconsultants.
  • Drive cross-selling, CRM engagement, and regional marketing collaboration.
  • Manage travel and client walk-throughs to shape submissions.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and expand new and existing client relationships that align with market groups and strategic plans by a combination of networking and trade shows attendance, outreach & referral generation.
  • Utilize industry experience to enhance accurately selling/cross-selling lines of service to best meet the needs of clients.
  • Utilize Deltek (CRM) Software to enhance the benefits of client retention, relationships with technical staff, and Directors/Partners to develop and engage client value proposals.
  • Coordinate and oversee Regional Marketing Groups to promote corporate standards and cross communication. Gale currently has 7 offices. Travel to each is required annually or as deemed necessary by Managing Partner.
  • Work as a team with other technical Directors and all groups to produce sales material/pitches to showcase Gale as a vendor of choice for all services/markets.
  • Attend, present & partner with local and regional/technical Directors’ and staff at tradeshows, associations & professional groups to consistently showcase the capabilities of Gale.
  • Mentor technical staff in business development and relationship building techniques.
  • Align the overall corporate solution/RFP/RFQ to the customer’s business needs, challenges, and technical requirements.
  • Attend RFP/RFQ client walk throughs (voluntary and mandatory) to determine project requirements in assistance in developing submissions.
  • Ability to manage and direct local and regional office marketing staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or English required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in the Design Consulting and Services of Architecture and Engineering industry preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills: writing, editing and presenting.
  • Sales, negotiation, and team building skills and techniques is required.
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency to build relationships, stay connected with clients, and close business deals.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, digest information & provide solution packages to current and prospective clients.
  • Have the experience and ability to grasp marketing and sales concepts quickly and follow through on opportunities.
  • Regional travel/overnight travel required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable form of transportation required.
