Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Draft articles, editorials, and internal and external communications
  • Develop strategic messaging for different audiences
  • Write and develop content for Chamber website, newsletters, and press releases
  • Manage social media accounts
  • Engage Members in social media
  • Create engaging social media content
  • Market all events in a timely manner through e-blasts, social media, online platforms, and press releases
  • Communicate with all event partners, media, and venues
  • Works with the CEO and COO to develop and gain approval for an annual strategic communications plan and effectively implements it across multimodal communications pathways to include digital, print, broadcast, and other modalities as appropriate
  • Attend all staff meetings and events

Requirements

  • Proficient knowledge of computer systems, specifically in Microsoft Office, Canva, MailChimp, Hootsuite, or similar
  • Experience in social media marketing and communications
  • Exceptional writing skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Proven ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong verbal, non-verbal, and listening communication skills with internal and external partners
  • Ability to exercise discretion concerning privileged or confidential information
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work flexible hours in support of scheduled events

Preferred

  • Experience in social media marketing and communications
  • Demonstrated history of effective engagement with print and broadcast media with a history of gained media through releases and direct engagement.
