Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Consult on, recommend, and execute communications/marketing strategies to meet business objectives.
  • Manage communications, marketing plans/programs to meet business objectives, including collaboration with internal stakeholders and vendor partners.
  • Advise program managers in developing communications and brand strategy.
  • Implement integrated marketing communications and brand strategy across a variety of channels (i.e., digital and print).
  • Design and produce communications/marketing materials from inception to deployment.
  • Analyze campaign/program/service/event effectiveness used to inform decisions regarding strategic marketing direction, product segmentation, and customer targeting.
  • Assess communications/marketing opportunities, track trends, and conduct research, including competitive benchmarking. Recommend communications/marketing improvements based on findings.
  • Guide and enact event communications in partnership with the designated events team and event owners.
  • Manage and build relationships with vendors/consultants on specific projects.
  • Manage project/program budget(s) and coordinate invoice processing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant communications experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Previous experience in product, program, and/or services marketing.
  • Ability to drive cross-functional groups toward a common goal.
  • Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understands how to implement integrated marketing programs across channels, including digital and print.
  • Prior experience in planning and managing multi-project budgets.

Preferred

  • Eight years of relevant experience within an academic, research-based environment.
  • Demonstrated experience translating complex technical, academic, or research content for general audiences.
  • Experience in higher education communications, research communications, or similar environments strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with business research topics and GSB areas of focus (e.g., organizational behavior, economics, finance, marketing, operations, political economy).
  • Experience reading and critically analyzing academic papers, working papers, and research outputs across diverse methodologies (quantitative, qualitative, experimental, etc.).
