Job Summary

Own content and communications support for a public safety focused team, turning briefs into blogs, social posts, decks, and multimedia assets while upholding brand and CJIS constraints.

  • Content & Communications: Write, edit, and proofread across blogs, social, campaigns, websites, and external comms.
  • Brand & Asset Creation: Maintain brand consistency and translate content into multimedia assets and polished presentations.
  • Media Outreach & Compliance: Assist in drafting outreach materials and support media relationships under CJIS security requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Write, edit and proofread content for blogs, social media, campaigns, websites and external communications
  • Apply SEO/AEO/GEO best practices to published content and website
  • Assist in drafting media outreach materials and communications assets as needed
  • Support social media through content creation and channel monitoring
  • Maintain consistency with brand guidelines across written and visual materials
  • Translate written content into clear, visually effective multimedia assets
  • Build and format PowerPoint presentations and collateral for internal and external use
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Pursuing Associate’s, Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Digital Media or a related field preferred
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word with the ability to create polished and engaging presentations and documents
  • A creative and innovative mindset paired with strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Light visual storytelling and layout design skills; experience with image editing or creative design tools is considered an asset
  • Interest in public safety technology and emerging tools including AI and drones
  • Based in the Lexington/Columbia, SC area preferred
  • Note: Due to the nature of our work with public safety agencies, this position requires compliance with the FBI's Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy. Candidates must successfully pass a comprehensive, fingerprint-based background check. Please note that specific customer contracts may impose additional security verification requirements. Obtaining and maintaining all required security clearances is a condition of employment.
