Job Summary

Own storefront operations and cross-functional collaboration to curate inclusive merchandise, launch new designs, and promote association initiatives across events and partnerships.

  • Storefront management: product organization, site design, and promotion.
  • Merchandise development: create original items and beta-test quality.
  • Marketing and collaboration: plan promotions and coordinate with committees and operations.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage the storefront, including product organization, website design, and promotion.
  • Strive for a variety of merchandise. Ensure the offerings are inclusive and avoid gender-based product labels and organization.
  • Develop original merchandise that promotes the Association’s brand and appeals to the membership at large.
  • Beta test new merchandise designs to ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Support event committees posting merchandise to the storefront, including reviewing designs, cross training volunteers and organizing/publishing design collections.
  • Establish and implement a marketing plan, which includes promoting special deals.
  • Attend all committee meetings and provide insight into how best the committee can collaborate to promote opportunities and initiatives for the Association.
  • Coordinate with the operations director on any financial and vendor-related issues.
  • Facilitate an environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of organizational branding and how best to communicate ideas and initiatives.
  • Ability to think creatively and deliver impressive concepts that align with Association branding guidelines.
  • Membership in the association, which can be fulfilled at application. (Free general membership for higher education professionals would meet this requirement.)
  • Familiarity with the Association.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines.

Preferred

  • A fluent knowledge of current design tools and software.
  • Proficiency with Threadless Artist Shops (or similar storefronts).
  • Work experience in a marketing, communications, or public relations environment.
  • Ability to produce and organize website content.
  • Ability to work with project management/team communication platforms such as Slack, Clickup, etc.
  • Google Drive proficiency.
