Job Summary

Own and drive category development initiatives for beauty and consumer goods, shaping strategies and long-term growth through market insights, shopper tools, and cross-functional collaboration.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Help lead the strategic vision and development of identified categories at Strategic Food and Club.
  • Build and maintain true understanding of market trends and omni-channel category insights.
  • Partner with Sales team in developing strategic account objectives and executional plans.
  • Be the channel insights expert internally with key stakeholders in particular Marketing and Trade marketing.
  • Use all category and shopper tools, such as NielsenIQ, Market360, Amazon Tech/Profitero, Scintilla, Numerator, Spate, Suzy panel research, Ipsos panel research, social engagement tools, Retailer loyalty systems, bespoke shopper studies (CDJ’s, Shopper Perception, UX studies, Merchandizing Studies and external market research (ex. Euromonitor, Kantar, Kline, Mintel).
  • Attend high-level customer engagement meetings in partnership with sales to present LDB as category expert and thought leader.
  • Lead development of holistic solutions that advance all pillars of traditional category management (assortment, category insights, on site merchandising, etc.) and work through the buying team to implement.
  • Exhibit a constant sense of curiosity, be highly motivated to gain insight/understanding of the business and proactively come up with opportunities/recommendations to move the business forward.
  • Consistently aspire to bring additional sophistication, improvement & efficiency to the analysis of the commercial business.
  • Utilize and adapt all central category thought leadership (Quarterly Market Assessments) and research to Strategic Food customers and the Club Channel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in Marketing, Category Management, or Sales within the beauty or consumer goods industry.
  • Experience supporting the development and execution of retailer strategies and projects.
  • Proven ability to analyze data and contribute to sales and profit optimization plans.
  • Experience within the beauty industry, ideally with some exposure to multiple categories.
  • Knowledge of shopper insights and their application to category management.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to present findings and contribute to action plans.
