Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Local Bakery Marketing Lead (LBM Lead) owns local store marketing, community relationships, events, catering and large-order lead generation, donation opportunities, and follow-up.
  • This role builds demand while protecting the brand and ensuring every commitment is operationally achievable.
  • The LBM Lead works closely with bakery operations to turn community activity into measurable sales opportunities and positive long-term relationships.
  • Build and maintain the monthly local marketing calendar aligned with bakery sales goals, brand standards, approved budget, holidays, and peak seasons.
  • Lead local outreach, community partnerships, catering and large-order lead generation, and in-market promotional activity.
  • Coordinate in-bakery marketing, signage, promotions, and guest-facing messages with the Bakery Manager and Multi-Unit Leader.
  • Track marketing activity, leads, sales contribution, follow-up, and return on investment; recommend adjustments based on results.
  • Own event planning, community relationships, lead capture, and post-event follow-up for approved activities.
  • Qualify catering and large-order opportunities, communicate requirements early, and maintain accurate visibility into dates, quantities, product needs, staffing, setup, and fulfillment expectations.
  • Coordinate complex events with the Multi-Unit Leader and Bakery Manager to confirm operational feasibility and readiness.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated strength in local marketing, community outreach, event coordination, sales development, hospitality, or a related customer-facing role.
  • Ability to build professional relationships, generate and follow up on leads, and translate marketing activity into measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong project management, calendar management, written communication, and attention to operational detail.
  • Sound judgment regarding brand representation, budget limits, partner commitments, guest information, and timely escalation.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with bakery operations and adjust plans when capacity, staffing, product, food-safety, or guest-experience needs require it.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and off-site events as assigned.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of event and in-bakery marketing work with or without reasonable accommodation; location-specific travel and physical requirements should be added before posting.
  • Regular local presence to support bakery relationships, events, promotions, and coordination with the operating team.
  • Escalation Expectations: Immediately elevate brand or PR concerns, legal threats, food-safety issues, partner complaints with reputational risk, unapproved use of brand assets, high-dollar or recurring commitments, events with significant staffing or operational complexity, and any request outside the approved marketing, donation, or event budget.
