Job Summary

Own the Trail Blazers social voice and live-content coverage, driving fan engagement, real-time updates, and audience growth across platforms through creative storytelling and strategic collaborations.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • DAY-TO-DAY: - Serve as a voice of the Trail Blazers on social media, ensuring content reflects the team’s unique brand values, tone, and Rip City culture. - Engage directly with fans to foster community, amplify top fan contributions, and highlight positive fan moments that make supporters part of the story. - Create captions and content designed to drive interaction, encouraging fans to comment, share, react, and participate in meaningful ways. - Create content for Trail Blazers social platforms , including real-time social coverage through gathering and sharing photos, videos, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage . - Post social content in c oordinat ion with internal departments such as Retail, Community Programs, and Social Impact . - Lead Gen Z and influencer strategies across Trail Blazers social channels, including ideation and content creation on TikTok, Snapchat, and emerging platforms. - Identify new ways to grow audiences and engage fans by testing fresh creative approaches, products, and platforms. - Attend Trail Blazers home games and other team events as assigned, while supporting road game coverage remotely. - Publish and maintain content on the Trail Blazers website, ensuring fans have access to the latest team news and updates. - Support with social reporting for sponsored content , team campaigns and key organizational events, and track and monitor the success of digital initiatives.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in social, marketing, communications or related field.
  • Ability to embody and consistently deliver the Trail Blazers’ voice and tone across all digital platforms
  • Strong fan and community engagement skills, including sparking conversation, responding in character, and building authentic connections with Rip City fans.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work well within a team while representing the brand externally.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress
  • A passion for and understanding of digital and social media channels and trends.
  • A s trong work ethic , adaptability, and eagerness to learn .
  • Proven ability to balance real-time social needs with planned projects.
  • A flexible schedule and willingness to work nights, weekends and select holidays based on event schedule .

Preferred

  • Knowledge of and interest in basketball .
  • Experience with social analytics and reporting, with an eye toward measuring engagement and community growth.
  • Graphic design experience.
  • Understanding of the Trail Blazers, Portland market and what makes our organization unique.
