Responsibilities

• Assist with delivering fire and life safety education programs in preschools, homeschool groups, elementary schools, and other community settings.
• Support public education and community outreach events by interacting with residents and helping facilitate activities.
• Assist in designing and preparing educational materials, flyers, brochures, handouts, event signage, and social media content.
• Help organize, inventory, and maintain educational supplies and program materials.
• Answer phone calls and respond to public inquiries by providing basic information and directing questions to appropriate staff.
• Assist visitors to the Life Safety Education office by providing educational resources and program information.
• Communicate with volunteers regarding program schedules and event support.
• Prepare educational materials, equipment, and vehicles for upcoming programs and community events.
• Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, scheduling assistance, filing, and other office support duties.
• Participate in special projects that support community risk reduction initiatives.

Requirements

• Application Period: Applications accepted for Winter/Spring internships during the school year (September–May).
• Anticipated Schedule: 27-40 hours a week would be ideal. Schedule can be flexible around school, (some weekend events), but we have programs at least 3 days a week
