Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own strategic oversight across 30 to 40 client accounts, guiding strategists on which messages, personas, formats, angles, and iterations to prioritize, and approving each account's strategy on a biweekly or monthly cadence
  • Decide when to keep iterating on proven creative and when to open new strategic territory, keeping every call grounded in Meta ad-account data rather than personal preference
  • Run weekly reviews of briefs, copy, finished ads, and account direction, approving, rejecting, or redirecting work based on its likelihood to perform and making sure each ad carries the right message in the right format for its audience. Other team members handle objective QA such as spelling and production errors, so your bar is copy, clarity, strategic thinking, and performance potential
  • Diagnose underperforming accounts, set clear corrective plans, and make sure the team is not leaning on bottom-of-funnel offers to produce results
  • Conduct biweekly analyses across the portfolio to identify winning messages, formats, personas, visual patterns, and creative variables, apply those patterns thoughtfully across relevant accounts, keep strategy coherent across a large portfolio of simultaneous accounts, and help the team separate real creative signals from shallow conclusions
  • Manage and coach four to five strategists directly through weekly coaching and feedback sessions, raising the team's analytical thinking, briefing, copywriting, and decision-making across different capability levels and working styles, where some are stronger strategic thinkers and others currently lean more heavily toward copywriting or execution, and building a team that operates independently without sacrificing quality
  • Contribute meaningfully to hiring, performance management, and termination decisions within the strategy team
  • Join client conversations when senior strategic guidance is needed, answer questions about creative direction and explain why the team is making specific moves, surface concerns and opportunities proactively, make sure relevant client feedback lands in the work, and give the Operations Manager the strategic context for biweekly client reporting, without becoming the day-to-day owner of client relationships
  • Make sure strategic pivots, client requests, and commitments become briefs and finished ads on time, move new-client onboarding forward from a strategy perspective, and work with the Operations Manager to close gaps in ownership, missed execution, and delivery risk
  • Step in hands-on each week for selected high-priority or struggling accounts, contributing briefs, copy, or account planning when senior support is needed, without becoming the default production strategist. Operate the agency's existing systems first and improve them over time

Requirements

  • Deep experience with Meta advertising as your primary platform, and a background leading a team that oversaw at least $500,000 USD per month in paid-social spend across multiple accounts
  • A track record of deploying creative that scaled, not just managing budgets or optimizing campaigns, backed by an excellent understanding of creative testing, performance analysis, and account-level iteration
  • Experience leading a strategy, performance marketing, copywriting, or creative team, and coaching and developing people with different levels of ability. In-house candidates need meaningful team-leadership experience, not an individual-contributor background alone
  • Strong judgment around static advertising and direct-response copy, and the confidence to approve, reject, and redirect work
  • The ability to manage a large account portfolio and spot where senior attention will have the greatest impact
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Ownership of outcomes. This role carries a high level of responsibility in a fast-moving agency. Nobody expects 14-hour days or treats constant overwork as a badge of honor, but some weeks will run past 40 hours when an account is struggling, an important deadline is close, or the team needs extra support. It will not suit someone looking for rigidly fixed hours or narrow ownership. It suits someone who is energized by high expectations and steps beyond the minimum when circumstances call for it
  • A plus: agency experience. Strongly preferred, not required
