Job Summary

Own media relations and content output for college athletics with a clear focus on timely press materials, game coverage, and department-wide communications.

  • Media Relations & Content: Own primary sport coverage, respond to regional and national media and NCAA requests.
  • Content Production: Write and distribute press releases, game notes, recaps, and features across press releases, social channels, and the department site.
  • Operations & Collaboration: Maintain program websites and partner with marketing and video services to craft promotional content and help shape department strategy.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage various administrative duties, including primary sport coverage, within the communications office and respond to requests from regional and national media outlets as well as conference and NCAA requests.
  • Independently write and produce press releases and media materials including game notes, recaps and features for distribution via media press releases, social media and the department website.
  • Maintain the department website for statistical, biographical and historical information for assigned programs.
  • Collaborate with marketing and video services to implement strategies to create unique promotional content for assigned programs and being a member of the overall team creating the strategy for the entire department.
  • Position does require ability to work night and weekends as well as some travel.
  • This position reports to the Associate Directors of Athletic Communications.
