Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an integrated international communications strategy for priority stakeholders – from concept to delivery.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and pitch high-quality content to selected international and specialist media.
  • Draft, refine and place op-eds and comment pieces in close collaboration with senior leadership and technical experts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with editors and journalists in relevant international outlets.
  • Establish and manage an international press distribution list as well as a focused media monitoring system to track visibility and resonance.
  • Lead editorial planning for the international website and produce long-form articles, interviews and expert explainers tailored to international stakeholders.
  • Drive cross-team alignment on priority topics and communication processes in coordination with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Design and facilitate workshops and internal alignment processes.
  • Apply agile working methods to effectively steer projects and workflows.Use AI tools responsibly to support research, transcription, analysis and workflow efficiency.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree required; a master’s degree in communications, journalism or a related field preferred.
  • At least 5 – 7 years of professional experience in international communication ideally within an INGO, multilateral organization or comparable environment.
  • Experience working with international editors and journalists.
  • Strong skills in content development, research and writing.
  • Proven experience in project management, ideally in international or cross-organizational settings.
  • Ability to navigate complex structures and work collaboratively across teams.
  • Strategic mindset combined with hands-on implementation skills.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) at native speaker level is required.
  • Proficiency in German is a strong asset.
