Job Summary

Own the social content engine for a statewide nonprofit, turning participant stories and events into consistent, on-brand storytelling across multiple platforms while keeping a tight calendar and measuring engagement.

  • Content & storytelling: interview participants, draft posts, newsletters, blogs, and website copy.
  • Social & engagement: plan across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, monitor metrics, and adapt to trends.
  • Campaigns & branding: help create promo assets, support events, and maintain brand consistency with performance tracking.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Write engaging social media posts highlighting participant success stories, events, and organizational updates.
  • Assist in drafting newsletters, blogs, website content, and email communications.
  • Interview program participants and alumni to develop compelling stories demonstrating program impact.
  • Support the creation of promotional materials for programs and events.
  • Assist with planning and scheduling content across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
  • Monitor engagement and recommend strategies to increase audience reach.
  • Research current social media trends and identify opportunities to improve engagement.
  • Help maintain an organized content calendar.
  • Design graphics using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Capture photos and video during Generation WV events and trainings.

Requirements

  • Current college student or recent graduate pursuing Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
  • Experience using Canva and Google workspace is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team.
  • Passion for West Virginia and Generation WV's mission.

  • Familiarity with email marketing platforms
