Job Description

Own the craft of high impact health communication across formats, shaping voice and turning public health goals into messages people actually act on.

  • Our work raises awareness, reduces stigma, motivates behavior change, and connects people to care.
  • It makes hard topics easier to talk about and turns public health goals into messages people actually act on.
  • Good health communication is clear without being clinical, compassionate without being vague, and credible without being boring.
  • That's the writing we need.
  • Social media: hooks, captions, and concepts that earn attention and keep it. Punchy, surprising, human.
  • Newsletters: pieces where the subject line is the most important sentence, and written like it.
  • Paid ads, billboards, and out-of-home: a handful of words, and every one has to pull its weight.
  • Blogs and longer-form pieces: clear, engaging, and built around an idea.
  • Some assignments call for traditional, carefully vetted educational writing.
  • Many give you room to be bold and unexpected.
  • The quality bar is the same for both — even our safest work shouldn’t read like everyone else’s, and writing brilliantly inside constraints is part of the craft, not an exception to it.
  • You’ll need the range to do both well, and the judgment to know which is which.
  • The ideas start and end with you.
  • Your writing comes first; AI can help you refine it, not generate it.
  • And you never take what it produces on trust — you read every line with a critical eye, know whether it actually works, and bring the human understanding this work depends on.
  • You welcome feedback and can also explain the thinking behind your choices.
