Job Summary
Own FOIA workflow and community outreach, coordinating requests, public messaging, and content production while keeping the information flow steady across campaigns and emergencies.
- FOIA operations: review/redact documents, liaise with requesters, and track subpoenas.
- Content and outreach: create social posts, video content, newsletters, and educational materials.
- Community engagement and emergency support: participate in meetings and back the Joint Information System during disasters.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Provide support on FOIA requests, including but not limited to reviewing and redacting responsive documents
- Serve as the liaison to public FOIA requesters and those with FOIA questions.
- Assist in tracking subpoenas across county departments.
- Develop and execute communication plans for various County campaigns.
- Create and manage a high volume of content, including social media posts, short- and long-form video, marketing and informational materials.
- Take lead on drafting the County’s weekly newsletter.
- Edit content on the government access channel.
- Develop and design educational/outreach materials, including print materials, videos, etc.
- Participate in community meetings and outreach as needed.
- Perform work as needed and directed during emergency/disaster situations. Be available to support the County’s Joint Information System/Center as needed.
