Job Summary

Own global Medical Affairs strategy for Animal Health, shaping thought leadership with KOLs and veterinary academia, and directing data generation and post-launch evidence in partnership with Clinical Development.

  • Ownership: global Medical Affairs strategy across product lifecycles and cross-functional partnerships.
  • Impact: lead data generation plans including Phase IV and real-world studies to differentiate therapeutics.
  • Audience & channels: engage veterinarians, researchers, schools, and policy makers to build advocacy.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a global Medical Affairs strategy across the lifecycle of Animal Health products.
  • Lead customer-centric programs to build leadership among KOLs, veterinary academia, and veterinarians.
  • Support business expansion through medical leadership, including input into due diligence, in-licensing opportunities, and evaluation of external assets and commercial partners.
  • Represent the medical voice of the company to inspire the broader marketing organization.
  • Lead and develop a growing Medical Affairs team supporting therapeutic franchises and matrix relationships with Medical Directors in regions and key markets.
  • Oversee Scientific Communications, Publications, Congresses as part of long-term medical capability development.
  • Create a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and veterinary excellence.
  • Collaborate with veterinary medical organizations, schools, policy makers, researchers, and thought leaders for insights.
  • Maintain consistent communications across companion animal medical affairs teams for worldwide coordination.
  • Lead and oversee data generation plans including Phase IV studies, real-world data, and investigator-initiated studies.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 15 years of broad work experience in practice, leadership, academic, and industry activities.
  • People management experience mandatory.
  • Demonstrated ability in communication, conflict resolution, judgment and managing complexity and ambiguity.
  • Proven experience creating and executing global veterinary customer strategies with measurable results and clear metrics.
  • High scientific rigor, excellent communication, and drive to deliver value for veterinarians, pets, and pet patients.
  • Experience managing multimillion-dollar budgets across multiple initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills; strong collaboration skills.
  • Able to travel up to 35% (Europe, Asia, South America).
  • Capabilities spanning Budget Management, Compliance, Cross-Cultural Awareness, KOL Management, Marketing Communications, Medical Affairs, Market Research, Product Management, and Strategic Decisions.
