Job Summary

Own the end-to-end modeling and experimentation that drives customer advertising optimization, with tight cross-functional collaboration to productionize models and inform product decisions.

  • Growth/ Monetization: Build econometric and ML models to improve ad strategy and traffic monetization without harming shopper experience.
  • Experimentation & Impact: Design and run A/B tests on hundreds of millions of customers, translating results for stakeholders and guiding product decisions.
  • Collaboration & Delivery: Partner with engineers, scientists, and product teams to implement scalable solutions and productionize modeling work.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Leverage econometrics and ML models to optimize advertising strategies on behalf of our customers.
  • Influence key business and product decisions based on insights from models you develop.
  • Perform hands-on analysis and modeling with enormous data sets to develop insights that increase traffic monetization and merchandise sales without compromising shopper experience.
  • Work closely with software engineers on detailed requirements to productionize the models you build.
  • Run A/B experiments that affect hundreds of millions of customers, evaluate the impact of your optimizations and communicate your results to various business stakeholders.
  • Work with other scientists, software developers, and product partners to implement your solutions.

Requirements

  • PhD in economics or equivalent
  • Knowledge of data analysis languages (e.g., R, Stata, Python, etc.) or other statistical software
  • Experience in a postdoctoral position, consulting position, government position or academic research
  • Experience with SQL
