Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead internal communications for US Oncology, helping employees understand business priorities, key milestones, organizational changes and the broader oncology strategy.
  • Develop integrated communications plans that drive employee engagement, support business objectives and align with US Oncology and AstraZeneca priorities.
  • Counsel senior leaders on messaging, sequencing, tone, style and channel strategy, particularly during moments of change or high visibility.
  • Lead and execute organizational announcements and internal change management counsel
  • Lead the planning and delivery of senior leadership forums and strategic business meetings, partnering closely with the SVP of US Oncology to shape agendas, develop executive communications, align leadership teams, and drive key business priorities.
  • Plan and deliver internal flagship programs and channels, including webinars, leadership updates, Nucleus articles, Workplace content, short-form video and other digital storytelling formats.
  • Lead the US Oncology internal editorial calendar, ensuring communications are timely, coordinated, audience-focused and connected to business priorities.
  • Translate complex scientific, medical, commercial and organizational information into clear and compelling content for internal audiences.
  • Use employee insights, engagement trends and business context to identify communications opportunities, risks and areas for improvement.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Commercial, Medical, HR, Legal, Compliance and other teams to ensure aligned planning and execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7-10   years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, public relations, agency   communications   or   a related   field.
  • Ability to develop and implement integrated, multi-channel communications strategies and plans.
  • Excellent writing,   editing   and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for different audiences.
  • Experience advising senior leaders and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to handle priorities, deadlines, resources,   agencies   and multiple workstreams at once.
  • Strong understanding of digital,   social   and employee engagement channels, including how to tailor content by platform and audience.
  • Experience using data and analytics to evaluate communications, improve   engagement   and   demonstrate   impact.
  • Ability to understand scientific and medical   information, or   demonstrated ability to learn complex subject matter quickly.
  • High personal accountability, sound judgment, strong collaboration   skills, and attention to detail.

Preferred

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing or a related field.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or oncology communications.
  • Experience working for a communications and public relations agency
  • Experience supporting commercial, sales, marketing or field communications.
  • Experience with above-brand campaigns, corporate reputation programs, consumer engagement initiatives or partnerships.
  • Experience managing communications agencies, vendors or external partners.
  • Knowledge of the US healthcare environment and issues affecting oncology care.
  • Experience producing short-form video, digital storytelling or social content for internal or external audiences.
  • Experience supporting organizational change communications, employee engagement or culture-building initiatives.
