Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Serve both as support for and/or the main quarterback for new business pitches, including coordination of internal teams, selecting subject matter experts (e.g., media, analytics, strategy), and developing pitch responses in conjunction with prospect briefs and RFI/Ps.
  • With guidance from the EVP, develop a robust prospecting list and system to drive incremental opportunities for the agency beyond search consultants (i.e. Creative Agencies, PE, Technology).
  • Coordinate prospecting efforts for the EVP and members of the C-Suite, including LinkedIn cross-referencing, POVs and creation of content for outreach.
  • Lead vetting of incoming pitches in partnership with the EVP, Growth to ensure new business wins align with the agency's strategic goals, the ICP, and overall vision for growth.
  • Support the EVP with New Business communications with agency search consultants.
  • Support the EVP, Growth in elevating the agency’s reputation and perception in the industry amongst agency search consultants and brands.
  • Use Salesforce to catalog and track all pitch activity.
  • Partner with the CFO and the EVP, Growth in pricing, packaging, and positioning compensation proposals for pitches and/or negotiations.
  • Manage the agency’s Associate Marketing Director to ensure case studies, award entries, social media, and other relevant growth content is developed properly and drives Mile Marker’s growth forward.
  • In partnership with the EVP, Growth and Associate Marketing Director, develop and manage the overall budget for growth initiatives inclusive of pitches, events, conferences, awards, and any other related programs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in business development, growth, or a similar leadership role within a media agency, consulting, or related industry.
  • Proven track record of prospecting within an agency sales approach; experience with pitching, and securing large, complex clients.
  • Demonstrated success in leading new business efforts from strategy through execution.
  • Brings existing understanding within the agency ecosystem: brands, search consultants and third-party research partners.
  • Understands full-funnel media management.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Ensures the timely and successful completion of key initiatives, while consistently meeting or exceeding performance expectations and sales metrics.
  • Maintains a high level of attention to detail, accountability, and transparency across all business development activities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to share opinions and insights clearly and persuasively.
