Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership on the development and distribution of written, oral and electronic communication in order to proactively deliver the organization’s key messages to a wide variety of internal stakeholders, utilizing best practices for internal campaign development.
  • Strongly partners and collaborates with Human Resources to execute strategic and inspirational employee and leadership communications.
  • Strongly partners and collaborates with Human Resources to develop, directs and manages employer branding and marketing campaigns, including recruitment marketing.
  • Directs and manages digital marketing strategy for non-clinical initiatives.
  • Independently develops and manages relationships across the health system at all levels of leadership and team in order to execute on effective internal communications plans.
  • Leads the generation of significant internal story telling with the primary purpose of building understanding, buy-in and ambassadorship in the strategic direction of OU Health.
  • Develops/manages internal marketing campaigns that serve to create awareness and understanding about the system.
  • Manages issues/crises internally to protect and enhance the healthcare enterprise’s reputation among key stakeholders while coordinating and connecting communications across media relations and digital media (employees, leaders, board).
  • Partners with the Chief Marketing and Growth Officer and departmental leaders to develop and manage the implementation of CEO communications.
  • Develops, directs and manages an innovative and aggressive internal communications channel strategy.
  • Oversee the use of style guides and brand standard references for all communications.
  • Develops, oversees and executes 24/7 call coverage for internal communications.
  • Ensures timely reporting of metrics demonstrating effectiveness and ongoing management of internal campaigns.
  • Assists the Vice President of Digital Media and Content Strategy on developing and maintaining an overall strategic internal communications plan for the system and digital marketing programming for Human Resources.
  • Represents the department as a key marketing management point of contact for all day-to-day aspects of the healthcare enterprise.
  • Provides leadership on delegated initiatives as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferably in public relations, communications or journalism.
  • Minimum of five years of leadership experience required and a diverse background of leading marketing efforts. An equivalent amount of education or experience may be substituted for minimum experience requirements.
  • High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and manage a high-performance team focused on accountability and meeting and exceeding expectations.
  • This position requires problem solving skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to multi-task.
  • Strategic, critical but creative thinker, strong business sense and community relations skills.
  • Ability to lead, create and work within cross-functional team environments.
  • Senior level marketing professional with a proven track record of success managing complex multi discipline service lines.
  • Knowledge and experience in negotiating communications with external stakeholders.

  • Experience in healthcare industry communications
