Job Summary

Own the narrative engine for a technical B2B energy brand, turning expert depth into repeatable stories across owned and earned channels.

  • Narrative Ownership: craft a cohesive voice across blog, briefs, posts, and pitches.
  • Editorial Engine: manage the end to end content calendar and tie launches to business milestones.
  • Channel Playbook: govern blog, newsletter, and LinkedIn with tested distribution and opportunistic amplification.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Manage Narrative Architecture: Define Heron’s voice and vocabulary that holds across every channel and audience. The blog, the customer brief, the LinkedIn post, and the press pitch should all sound like they come from the same company with the same conviction. Your job is to make sure they sound cohesive.
  • Story Mine: Build relationships and processes to extract employee stories and turn them into differentiated content; monitor industry conversations, competitor moves, and moments for Heron to speak up.
  • Drive the Editorial Pipeline: Own the content calendar end to end — what gets made, when it ships, and how it maps to the BD calendar and milestones.
  • Shape Channel Strategy and Distribution: Own the blog, newsletter, and LinkedIn with a clear view on placement, testing new channels, and opportunities to amplify Heron’s story.
  • Leverage Earned Media: Build journalist relationships in energy, infrastructure, and climate tech; place stories, manage inbound press, and position leadership as credible voices.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years in B2B communications, content strategy, or technical marketing, ideally in energy, climate tech, deep tech, or infrastructure.
  • Strong writing at the center of everything you do. You can write the technical explainer, the customer brief, and the newsletter.
  • A track record of delivering communications initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Fluency with AI tools. You use them to extend your output and operate at the capacity of a larger team. Your strategic judgment is your own.
