Job Summary

Own and monetize K-State Athletics digital properties and athlete storytelling while coordinating cross-unit multimedia projects and national social programs.

  • Growth Infrastructure: Own digital properties from site to video platforms and monetize through proactive activation.
  • Content Engine: Schedule and run national social campaigns that raise brand visibility and align with team objectives.
  • Marketing Ops: Track trends, optimize workflows, and drive improvements across the digital media division.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for production and management of K-State Athletics’ website, mobile platforms and other digital information systems, including YouTube and Cats+.
  • Develop innovative digital-first information strategies and brand activations that prioritize monetization and support athlete-led storytelling.
  • Collaborate with internal units and stakeholders to ideate and execute multimedia projects relevant to the overall goals and department-wide initiatives of K-State Athletics.
  • Assist in the execution of K-State Football and K-State Baseball social media platforms; aid in the digital voice for programs with consistency and credibility in alignment with brand standards.
  • Implement content calendar and social media strategies that increase engagement and enhance brand visibility on a national level prioritizing both team and departmental objectives.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and future trends to ensure the K-State Athletics digital media division is operation at a high level; proactively identifying areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required by first day of employment, preferably in marketing, journalism, communications, computer science, sport management or other related field.
  • Two or more years of previous experience in web management and maintenance for the daily operations of a website, preferably in the communications or athletics field.
  • Experience working on various content management systems.
  • Writing, editorial and communication experience/skills
  • Strong experience, familiarity and understanding of popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikToc, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe cloud suite and average to above average capability in Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communications, computer science or related area
  • Two or more years of previous experience in web management for the daily operations of a website, preferable in the communications or athletic field
  • Writing, editorial and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of all social media platforms, including managing and posting to accounts
  • Experience working on various content management systems
  • Understanding of sporting landscape, industry standards and current digital and social media trends
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and Lightroom
  • Knowledge of NCAA and Big 12 Conference recruiting rules and regulations
