Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Leads Cross Catholic Outreach’s digital copy strategy and direction.
  • Writes and produces effective and targeted marketing content for a variety of audiences while maintaining our ministry’s voice, brand, and core values.
  • Directs the strategic content for digital communications (website, emails, blogs, etc.).
  • Ensures optimal SEO strategies are implemented.
  • On a case-by-case basis, develops content for print as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Multimedia Journalism, Marketing, and/or relevant and proven related work experience.
  • 5+ years of professional writing experience, especially with digital platforms
  • Experience writing promotional marketing and/or fundraising copy
  • Familiarity with SEO strategy and implementation
  • Strong understanding of email and social data analytics
  • Knowledge/familiarity with the teachings and values of the Catholic Church
  • Ability to incorporate strong and motivational Catholic, biblical, and spiritual themes into writing across various platforms (print, digital, social media, etc.)
  • Proficiency with incorporating and implementing SEO strategy
  • Ability to consistently produce quality content that meets ministry standards; strong capability to receive and effectively apply stakeholder edits; able to interpret and apply constructive feedback to enhance materials
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong proficiency in grammar
  • Skill in gathering and synthesizing information from various sources
  • Ability to translate complex/technical/specialty language/ideas and distill it into clear, simple copy that audiences will understand and connect with
  • Must be able to propose (and implement) viable solutions/improvements when challenges arise
  • Confidence to defend/debate ideas without ego interference and the ability to be flexible (diplomatic attitude) when handling edits
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Must have a keen eye for detail
  • Ability to take on multiple tasks and meet all deadlines for assignments as required
  • Candidate must demonstrate excellent time management skills and be able to work with minimum supervision
  • Possess a positive, service-oriented attitude and be a proven team player
  • Bilingual preferred; Spanish (Proficient)
