  • Content Production: Plan, shoot, edit, and publish social-first videos and graphics for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and more.
  • Community & Trends: Proactively engage surfers, fans, creators, and influencers; monitor sentiment and test new concepts to spark conversation.
  • Platform & Programs: Manage calendars, collaborate on event coverage, and translate strategy into consistent, on-brand content across channels.

Job Description

Own content creation and social storytelling for surf-focused audiences, turning core narratives into engaging, platform-tailored posts while coordinating event coverage and community engagement across the WSL's social channels.

  • Content Production: Identify, create and publish engaging social-first content that champions the WSL’s values on Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, Facebook & O+O.
  • Content Strategy: Proactively build consistent content for key narratives; inclusive of surfer-first and personality driven, from planning through execution.
  • Event Coverage Support: Supports marketing/social/digital team in event coverage.
  • Shoulder Programming: Assist in creating shoulder programming outside of event coverage, including promotional material and event wrap up content.
  • Community Relations: Cultivate and develop relations by staying connected to surf communities, engaging with followers, creators, and influencers through comments and DMs.
  • Copy & Engagement: Write engaging and community focused copy with excellent attention to detail.
  • Inbound Admin & Partnerships: Assist in social media inbound admin such as announcements, partnership deliverables, WSL One Ocean and ad hoc requests.
  • Trend & Sentiment Analysis: Collaborate and seek latest trends, conversation, comment sentiment and audience interests with the team; test new concepts.
  • Documentation & Best Practices: Highly organized in maintaining and updating departmental documentation, content calendars, and global best practices documents.
  • Video Production: Video production and editing with a focus on social first content that speaks to the surf community.
