Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Social Media Coordinator will be responsible for creating, editing, and distributing content across key social platforms, working closely with Marketing, Content, and Corporate Partnerships teams to execute strategic social media initiatives.
  • Content Creation: Produce high-quality, engaging content optimized for social media using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and/or mobile editing apps
  • Edit both short and long form videos intended for social media use
  • Platform Management: Program and execute key social media platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Threads, and YouTube
  • Support Social Media team in game day and event coverage (i.e., content creation, publishing, behind-the-scenes content capture, etc.)
  • Assist in maintaining our daily, weekly, and monthly content calendars
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with departments and vendors to build all social media content creation, campaigns, and calendars to achieve the organization's and partners' marketing goals
  • Strategy and Trends: Monitor real-time trends and quickly react to produce content around them when appropriate
  • Stay informed on the evolving social media landscape, including product updates and new tools or features, and provide recommendations to enhance the team's digital presence
  • Basketball Storytelling: Research, identify and execute content around storylines that highlight our players, coaching staff, basketball statistics, and our organization’s history that resonate with a global audience

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 1-2 years of experience in digital media, with hands-on experience in social media, capturing and editing content, and executing campaigns
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop), mobile editing apps, and social media publishing tools
  • Knowledge of current and emerging social media platforms and trends, with the ability to influence content strategy through expertise
  • Strong understanding of basketball culture, team dynamics, and game day operations, including events, stats, and player updates
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with clients, peers, and team members at all levels of the organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and balance multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred

  • Experience in sports analytics or data visualization
  • Experience with shooting and editing short-form video for social platforms
  • Knowledge of audience targeting and social ad campaigns
  • Familiarity with analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Google Analytics)
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in sports/entertainment
