Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Communications team to develop and implement strategies for promoting the museum’s exhibitions, programs, collections, development, and other initiatives
  • Coordinate project management across the department to ensure all activities are connected and on track
  • Coordinate production schedule for all communications activities and ensure all deliverables are submitted within deadline
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of reports about the division’s activities including press coverage, photoshoots, events and more.
  • Assist in the creation and distribution of communications and marketing materials, emails, press releases, and event collateral
  • Assist in ensuring all communications initiatives are communicated thoroughly internally
  • Participate in the execution of programs and events hosted by the museum, including community activations and booths, press events, public programs, photo and video shoots, and more
  • Support division staff with operations and administrative logistics, including ordering supplies, facilitating contracts, and liaising with various partner contacts
  • Schedule internal and external meetings; send agendas and follow-up emails for division-hosted meetings
  • Maintain a centralized archive of print and digital communications

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Design, Business, or a related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred or
  • 3-5 years related experience in nonprofit, arts, museum, advertising, communications, design, or other relevant industries
  • Broad familiarity with principles of communications and marketing
  • Impeccable integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality; excellent judgment
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Commitment to accuracy and exceptional attention to detail
  • Experience using project management tools like Airtable, Asana, Quickbase, and others
  • Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience using email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp), maintaining contact databases (CRM systems), and updating website content through a content management system (CMS)
