Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Partner with peers to define and develop customized content to meet the business needs of the private practice.
  • Develop and maintain the content plan, own and manage content maintenance plan to ensure content supports strategy.
  • Manage the content library for OMS websites and social media in BOX, Sendible, and MS Teams.
  • Publish content in automated workflow and recommend workflow process enhancements.
  • Provide direction on digital content best practices and edit content authored by others, as needed.
  • Write landing page copy and articles about optometric services, including clinical and optical products, for client websites.
  • Based on client marketing priorities, develop editorial calendars for blog articles by client, and write monthly blog articles or web pages for each client for inclusion on practice websites.
  • Work closely with Marketing Services SEO Manager to implement recommendations for optimization of written content to improve rankings on search engines.
  • Upload blogs and web pages to client websites.
  • Draft client-specific copy and reformat O.D. bios and staff bios copy for tone.
  • Write compelling business descriptions as part of the optimization of Google Business Profiles for clients.
  • Write landing page copy for client Google Ads campaigns.
  • Provide QA support for design team during the development of client websites.
  • Write social media post copy in the following categories: eye care and eye disease awareness, optical-focused social media posts, specialty services, seasonal posts, and practice-specific post copy, such as doctor and staff spotlights.
  • Add copy to content libraries in Sendible.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, or English.
  • 2-3 years of content marketing or relevant work experience in an agency, media/publications, or internal marketing communications department.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Understands SEO best practices and how to write SEO-friendly content.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics.
  • Familiarity with Social Media publishing and reporting tools.
  • Ability to independently manage and move projects forward.
  • Basic/Familiarity with WordPress, Divi, HTML, Graphic Design, and Social Media platforms. Social media or content marketing experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Outlook and Teams.
  • Adept at learning web-based tools.
  • Experience creating patient-focused healthcare content that aligns with search intent and common patient questions
  • Understanding of how page structure, headings, metadata, and internal linking support content performance
  • Familiarity with local and service-based content strategies for healthcare or multi-location businesses
  • Strong understanding of Google’s E-E-A-T principles (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness), especially for healthcare content
  • Awareness of how search is evolving with AI-generated results and AI search experiences, including the importance of clear, authoritative, well-structured content for visibility across both traditional and AI-driven search
  • Ability to collaborate with SEO and marketing teams to optimize and refine content based on performance data
  • Focus on content quality, accuracy, readability, and conversion intent, not just publishing volume
  • Ability to work within a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and self-driven.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
