Job Summary

Own the end-to-end short-form video editing and format experimentation for fast laughs and social spikes, balancing trend-driven scripts with shoot planning for larger YouTube shoots.

  • Content ownership: edit and package short form videos for Instagram and YouTube Shorts, with trend-driven script adjustments.
  • Production coordination: plan shoots, source crew, locations, props, and art direction for multi-cam YouTube projects.
  • Storycraft and performance: explain hooks and pacing, and keep comedy timing aligned with audience and platform formats.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Edit our short form videos end-to-end with the fast-paced style that Instagram and YouTube Shorts demands.
  • Track what's working on Instagram (daily) and YouTube (regularly) and translate trends into concrete format suggestions for our scripts
  • Work backwards - since you know what is needed for a great edit, advise us on the shooting style we should use
  • The hard part: our videos have to make a 22-year-old employee send it to the group chat and make their middle-aged boss laugh too
  • For larger YouTube productions, multi-cam, and studio shoots:
  • Plan and coordinate shoots with external producers and crew
  • Find shooting locations, actors, camera people, lighting, sound
  • Source props and provide art direction
  • 2D motion graphics creation and B-roll content research

Requirements

  • No degree needed
  • You have proof you can already do the job.
  • You are funny in a way you can prove - sketches, memes, edits, scripts, an account that popped off
  • Can explain the reasons behind what you made: hooks, retention, why it spread
  • Follow content and editing trends closely enough to mimic or parody them - you know what "6-7", Italian brainrot, and a TikTok gallery video are
  • Have comedy instincts: timing, escalation, knowing when a bit is dead
  • Edit confidently (Premiere, CapCut or DaVinci - the tool matters less than the result)
  • Communicate reliably in a remote setup, especially when coordinating shoots with others
  • For this role, no formal degree is required; proof you can already do the job
