Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Create compelling photo and video content across Fury channels, with the ability to independently capture and edit highquality content when needed
  • Develop and produce recurring content franchises - including player features, behind-the-scenes storytelling, interviews, match recaps and highlights - working with the Creative Designer, freelancers, and other production resources as appropriate.
  • Identify and develop stories proactively - recognizing compelling player, team, community, and behind-the-scenesmoments without waiting for an assignment.
  • Create and edit platform-native content - including Reels, TikToks, Shorts, photography, graphics, and other formats - tailored to how fans consume content on each channel.
  • Capture photo and video at practices, matches, and community events; direct match-day freelancers when extran coverage is needed
  • Coordinate on-camera talent, scripting, and interview prep for player and staff features
  • Maintain an organized, accessible library of content assets and finished work; publish and repurpose content across channels and formats to maximize its value
  • Own and grow all Columbus Fury social channels - Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms
  • Run the day-to-day content calendar in partnership with our agency partner, publishing consistently
  • Write copy that sounds like a person, not a press release, in the Fury's voice

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience producing content, managing social channels, or working in a comparable digital storytelling role
  • Demonstrated ability to create strong visual content, including capturing and editing short-form, platform-native video; comfortable working hands-on when the moment requires it
  • Excellent writing and storytelling instincts - from social copy to game recaps and press materials
  • Strong editorial judgment and an instinct for what makes a compelling story - particularly in a fast-moving sports or live-event environment
  • Strong command of social platform best practices and algorithms, and comfort capturing content in the moment
  • Communications or PR experience - comfortable writing game recaps, prepping talent, and supporting the agency's media efforts
  • Self-directed operator who can take a strategic brief from an agency partner and execute without day-to-day supervision
  • Proficiency with social scheduling tools, a CMS, an email platform, and analytics platforms
  • Able to work all home match days, special event, evenings, and weekends in a live-event environment

Preferred

  • Experience in sports, athletics, or live entertainment content
  • Experience with professional video production and editing tools (Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or comparable)
  • Media relations or public relations background, including media-training experience
  • Email marketing platform experience (Klaviyo, Mailchimp, or similar)
  • Motion/graphics familiarity to collaborate tightly with the Creative Designer on the video and content push
  • Knowledge of and passion for volleyball or women's sports; Columbus market knowledge
