Job Summary

Own community engagement and events program across neighborhoods, churches, and partners, with a focus on calendar ownership, logistics, storytelling, and corporate engagement liaison.

  • Event Program Ownership: Own the end-to-end community events calendar, logistics, staffing, and brand experience.
  • Partnerships & Corporate Engagement: Build corporate partnerships, workplace volunteering, and sponsor-aligned events.
  • Community Storytelling & Volunteer Network: Collect impact stories, manage Teen Board liaison, and grow a Volunteer Ambassador Program.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage NeighborUp’s participation in community events, church and civic activities, fairs, and outreach opportunities.
  • Maintain a comprehensive calendar of engagement opportunities and track all event-related details.
  • Oversee event logistics, including staffing, volunteer coordination, materials, equipment, and transportation.
  • Represent NeighborUp at events as an ambassador of the organization, sharing our mission and engaging the public.
  • Ensure high-quality and consistent branding, messaging, and experience across all events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop event-related digital content and community outreach communications.
  • Collect photos, stories, and impact highlights for use in storytelling and donor engagement.
  • Serve as a key liaison for the NeighborUp Teen Board, supporting and attending monthly Board meetings and other events, and communicating with the Board.
  • Support the development and management of a Volunteer Ambassador Program to support NeighborUp participation in community events throughout our service area.
  • Conduct research on corporate engagement trends, partnership models, and potential new corporate partners.

Requirements

  • Experience in community engagement, event planning, volunteer coordination, nonprofit work,or similar fields (1–3 years preferred).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable engaging with diverse community members, church partners, and corporate stakeholders.
  • Creative problem-solver with the ability to adapt to changing environments and last-minute needs.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Comfort with public speaking and representing the organization in community settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and basic marketing tools (e.g., social media platforms, Canva, email platforms) preferred.
  • Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed for community events.
  • Occasional lifting or transporting of event materials may be required. Must have reliable transportation for attending events throughout the community.
