Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and management of internal and external communications, including digital content, print materials, and promotional campaigns highlighting Honors students, faculty, and programs.
  • Develop and manage communications to promote academic excellence, student achievement, and institutional visibility.
  • Support assessment and reporting by collecting, organizing, and presenting data related to student outcomes, program effectiveness, and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean of Academics, the National Scholarships and Fellowships Coordinator, and university partners to ensure consistent messaging.
  • Support recruitment and retention through targeted communications and messaging strategies.
  • Contribute to a dynamic and well-rounded academic environment through effectively coordinated communications and assessment efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, public affairs, media, journalism, English, or a related field from an appropriately accredited institution
  • Three (3) years of experience in communications, public relations, or publicity work
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field
  • Three or more years of experience in higher education or public sector communications
  • Strong writing and editing skills for various formats (press releases, reports, digital content)
  • Experience with content management systems, social media, and digital marketing tools
  • Familiarity with assessment reporting or data visualization in an academic setting
  • Proven ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple projects
