Responsibilities

• Draft communications from the Executive Director including staff updates and leadership messaging.
• Develop and maintain a school-wide communications calendar.
• Support Directors in aligning messaging across Academics, Operations, and Wellness.
• Draft talking points, announcements, and internal updates.
• Ensure messaging across departments is consistent and aligned with school priorities.
• Oversee ParentSquare messaging systems.
• Draft and edit letters to families related to academics, policy updates, discipline communications, and school initiatives.
• Ensure communications are clear, culturally responsive, and professional.
• Support messaging around academic progress and schoolwide priorities.
• Draft executive summaries and board communication materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Education, or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional communications or marketing experience.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills.
• Experience supporting grant writing or development communication.
• Strong project management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred

• Experience working in a K–12 school or nonprofit environment.
• Familiarity with charter schools or the NYS education landscape.
• Experience coordinating events or family engagement initiatives.
