Job Description

Responsibilities

  • The Communications Director is responsible for leading marketing, social media, and communications efforts for the Forrest Spence Fund.
  • This role works closely with every member of the FSF team since many projects overlap across events, programs, and regions.
  • Strong collaboration and consistent communication are essential to the position.
  • Plan and promote events, including event promotion and marketing, auction planning and procurement, and finding and securing auction items
  • Pull Salesforce reports and maintain donor and contact lists
  • Collect sponsor logos and information and update the website
  • Use updated information for newsletters, sponsor recognition, and other marketing materials
  • Create podcast graphics and social media posts, upload podcast episodes to the website, and promote each episode across social media
  • Use podcast recordings, client spotlight photos and stories, and family-related content for marketing
  • Collaborate on volunteer-related projects throughout the year

Requirements

  • Organized and able to exhibit “follow through” on tasks and goals
  • Strong writing, editing, and graphic design skills
  • Comfortable managing and creating content for multiple social media platforms
  • Positive attitude, ability to show concern for people and community, present, self-confident, and attentive
  • Ability to collaborate closely with staff across departments and regions
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or willingness to learn (reports, donor/contact lists, data entry)
  • Comfortable working with vendors, sponsors, and community partners
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once, including recurring biweekly and weekly tasks
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to the needs of different programs and city offices
