Job Summary

Own multimedia storytelling and content production for diverse rural-audience stakeholders, maintain the institute’s channels, and deliver audience-ready reports while orchestrating the annual RISE event.

  • Own multimedia storytelling and content creation for faculty, community members, journalists, economic development partners, and national rural development consortia.
  • Manage Leahy Institute channels (web, social, email) and align them with reporting cadence.
  • Coordinate RISE event marketing and deliver audience-focused communications and updates.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Identifying and producing multimedia stories and content for key audiences (faculty, community members, journalists, economic development stakeholders, national rural development consortia)
  • Manage and develop Leahy Institute for Rural Partnerships channels (web, social, email)
  • Produce regular reports for Leahy Institute audiences.
  • Coordinate marketing and communications for annual RISE event.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Three to four years of professional communications experience, with demonstrated experience in managing social media for an organization.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, including feature stories and press releases.
  • Creative and persuasive communication skills.
  • Proficiency in multimedia production.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and manage deadlines independently.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to integrate data and analytics into communications products.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, social justice, the value of academic research and the promise of resilient community development.

Preferred

  • Preferred, but not required: experience in higher education or other complex organization.
